Should i stick around and see what happens ?

I have a crush on this guy for many years. We finally had dinner 3 times right before christmas. Then out of the blue he stopped talking to me, telling me " i cant give you what you want". The funny thing is what do i want? About 2 weeks ago a group of friends got together to have drinks... He was there. We talked laughed, had a good time. When it was time to pay, i went to pay my tab, I didn't have my wallet I had left it in my car so i went to get it and when i came back, he had already payed it for me... $100.00 bar tab. That was not my intention what so ever and i told him this, but he insisted it was ok. After drinks we went for dinner, he totally had a chair next to me, then after dinner he took me back to my car. When he dropped me off i told him, i still liked him a lot, and that i wanted to forget about him but i cant! He said " i think about you often, but he wants to be sure he wont hurt me". He also said " I want to make sure i can give you what you deserve". I don't know what all this means... Should i stick around and see what happens, or should i just walk away from it??
