Why are 'christians' so totally unable to construct an argument for their 'god' without resorting to hollow?

rhetoric or to unsubstantiated assertions? If 'god' leaves absolutely NO evidence of 'its' existence, then why even try to defend when one knows that rational people aren't swayed by empty talk?
