Where to buy designer clothes?

Honestly no offense but in the U.S it is rather hard to find designer clothing. (im from France) what clothing stores could i find REAL designer clothes not the fake stuff. i dont care much for discounted stuff. and also what are some of the designer brand names? i know Tommy Hilfiger and Dior because they are every where in France.
